Teaching Philosophy
History
At school I was not very interested in learning English, because the teacher I had made me see very difficult and even boring, then I changed schools, there I learned a lot of irregular verbs because the teacher spent 2 school years only with that. In another school, I learned a little more because I had a teacher who taught me with material, he showed us videos, made us repeat the lyrics of songs and everything was fun to learn, since then I started to like English. In order to choose a career in the university I did not know what I wanted since I was not allowed to leave the city to study, and I decided to learn and teach English in the future, now I am studying and what I know about English I have learned through videos that I saw on YouTube and what I learned at the university. For my future as a teacher I hope to be able to manage the class in the right way, calling the attention of the students and that everyone can learn and I can comply with my teaching objective.
Philosophy
The first thing I hope as a future teacher is to be able to help and inspire my students to grow, to have confidence in themselves because as I am still a student I think it is an important point as a teacher and to be able to work in a classroom where there is respect among all. I would also like to have different methods to teach how each student learns differently, I would use the intelligences proposed by Gagné, I would apply a questionnaire or test to identify the type of intelligence that dominates each one in order to teach in a different way by showing videos, making them use more vocabulary in a conversation, practicing with flash cards, having them write a story and correcting them in a gentle way and as everything advances and in this case technology has been a great pillar to encourage teaching, I would apply the use of digital networks such as in the connectivism of George Siemens I would put group projects in which they can record a Tiktok having a conversation or interview, they can use canva, PowerPoint or any other presentation to do their writing and show it also they can watch videos of a specific topic.
Every so often I would let their learning be autonomous that the student is based on exploration, divide the class so that some practice writing, listening, vocabulary, grammar, fluency to speak and having material such as cards, images, readings and different objects, I would not pressure them I would observe them more and if they need me interact with them and each one would choose their activity.
I would like my students to trust me so I will listen to them and encourage them so they feel supported, I plan to keep learning and adapting to technology and new ways of teaching that come with time, as I want to be the teacher my students need.
